PLAAY on the Move

PLAAY on the Move emphasizes participation and leisure allowing access for everyone.  While able to cater to children of all ages and capabilities, PLAAY on the Move aims to provide accommodative opportunities for children with mobility and sensory impairments within the community.  Through PLAAY on the Move’s low-cost, high-impact, portable technologies (including modified ride-on cars, hands-free harness systems and adapted sensory activities), unique programming can be provided that maximizes a child’s ability to independently explore alongside family and friends. This is particularly important as important neurological pathways that optimize cognitive, social, motor, language and emotional development are formed when children naturally explore and learn from their environment. Through the PLAAY on the Move initiative, CSU faculty within the health-professional and education programs help children of all ability levels fully engage in the community while promoting fun, freedom, fulfilment and development of friendships.
